The competition
explained
From February to June 2010 choirs will compete in their
allocated Area Selection venue for the opportunity to
become a Choir of the Day in their category.
On the day, specially chosen judges provide professional
advice and tell choirs their reasons for selecting who
goes through to the next round. There isn’t a fixed
number of Choirs of the Day in each category - the judges
can select any choir who makes the grade to go through
to National Selection.
Area Selection days are great fun. They are an opportunity
to meet and hear lots of other choirs and are open to
the public. The day starts with a group warm-up and later
on, during the judging, we get everyone – choirs
and supporters alike – on their feet and singing
in our audience workshop!
